Learn how to take any opening, scene or monologue and quickly develop a comedic premise to use in a scene. Then how to take this premise and present it as a roadmap for you and your partner to have fun! Also very useful for callbacks and second beats.
This is an in=depth exploration of an advanced approach to premise -based improv. The class length is ideally at east 8 weeks. We will begin with 4 weeks with a planned renewal This will lead to a VIF virtual house team that will continue to rehearse and perform @theFollies on Sunday nights
Adam Cawley is an alumnus of world famous Second City Mainstage, and Just for Laughs in Montreal. He is also a three-time National Comedy Award Winner including Best Male Improviser in the Country. Adam is known as an actor for his roles on: Ghosts (CBS) Baroness Von Sketch Show (IFC - recurring) and Workin' Moms (Netflix - recurring). Other notable TV credits include Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Ghostwriter (Apple TV), and Odd Squad (PBS Kids). Juuuust before the pandemic Adam was cast in a new improv television pilot project from the creators of Whose Line is it Anyway?
His improv tutorial podcast, The Backline, won the National Podcast Award for Best Educational Series and allows him to tour the world performing comedy. Most recently Adam filmed two made-for-television movies Making Scents of Love and Habour House as well as performing sketch comedy for The NFL on FOX! You can see Adam perform live at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.
